It was a wonderful day. My best friend and I spent the day serving in the temple, and then he took me out to dinner. Then we watched a crazy British movie called "Cold Comfort Farm."
Actually my birthday started the night before when Brenda came down with Sam, Sydney and Maia plus a large bouquet of flowers and a red velvet cake! She talked me into opening my present from Eldon and the kids and she and Sam got it set up and taught me how to use it. It's an engraved I-pod! I think it's cool. Thank you for an exciting present.

Having a grandchild set it up for you is the real present!
I like the blog makeover!
Happy birthday!
Sounds like a good band name: "Eldon and the Kids". I agree with Ken, the blog looks cool, like a picture from your Canadian road trip. Who is the hand model?
Brenda warned me to not love my new I-pod more than my husband! Good advice. I'm doing ok with that. It's alot more fun to play Scrabble with Eldon than with the I-pod, even though they both usually win.
This was from a sacrament meeting talk comparing cell phones to the Book of Mormon. I'm going to replace cell phone with I-pod. (^0^)
"What would happen if we treated the Book of Mormon like we treat our I-pods? What if we carried the Book of mormon around in our purses or in our pockets? What if we turned back to get the Book of Mormon if we forgot it? What if we search through the Book of Mormon several hours a day? What if we spent an hour or more using the Book of Mormon each day? What if we used the Book of Mormon to receive messages? What if we treated the Book of Mormon like we couldn't live without it? What if we gave the Book of Mormon to others as gifts? What if we used the Book of Mormon as we traveled? What if we used the Book of Mormon in case of an emergency?
"Unlike our I-pods, one plan fits all. There is unlimited usage. There are no roaming charges. You will always have reception. There are no weak signals. And you never have to worry about being disconnected!"
Love it.
