First we went up to Salem to witness the blessing of our great grandson, David Cyrus Goodwin. See Ken's blog for pictures. His dad gave him a nice blessing. He's a fine healthy baby with an amazing complexion.
Then we drove to Central Point to visit Neil's family. Everybody was fine except Pam had a cold. Gideon has gotten taller and is starting to look more like Zachary. He can say "Grandpa"!
On Monday we went on a 5-mile hike with the Webelos. Pam is the leader and Erik is now in her den. Lots of parents came, including Neil. Eldon taught them to identify some trees. It was a beautiful forest over in Jacksonville and there was quite a variety of trees. Look at all the arrows on Erik's shirt!
Then we went to see Zachary's Eagle project which is planting a hummingbird garden by a veteran's memorial. It was an awesome place. We did some weeding while we were there.
On Tuesday we drove home, stopping by the Wildlife Safari in Winston. We saw lots of interesting animals as we drove through the park. We took pictures of several including the brown bear, giraffe, rhea, and bactrian camel.
