Visit to the Utah Olsens

We enjoyed our visit to Carl and Velvet's. They're doing great! Utah is a little dreary this time of year.

We played at the swimming pool, went to Souper Salad, and went to a sock hop at their school. That was fun to see the little girls dancing around with their friends. Grandpa brought a craft for them to to.

The girls love to play games on the computer.

And we enjoyed reading stories to them.

Aunt Gail spent Sunday with us and went to church with us. It was good to see her. I showed her New.Familysearch and the indexing program.

I was able to get Laura to say the "k" and "g" sounds. Grace and I were making words with Scrabble pieces for her to practice. Grace spelled "general" and then told Laura sometimes "g" makes the "j" sound. Laura says, "Like giraffe." Grace can read about anything and Laura can sound out easy words. I think she's doing great for a kindergartner!

One night Kate (age 3) started reciting the 1st article of faith: "We believe in God the Eternal Father..." and then Laura took over "...and in His Son, Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints..." Then Grace said the whole thing.
I think Kate (Kathryn Gail) has inherited Gail's dark eyes.

I went to work with Carl one day and went to the Family History Center to look some things up. I met his new boss when we went to lunch and he seems very nice. Carl says he gives him more to do and he's enjoying his job more.

Velvet is amazing, keeping the home organized and the family happy besides working at her new job at E-Bay five evenings a week while Carl tends the kids.

Carl, Velvet, Grace, Laura, and Kate greatly enjoyed the visit. Everything was great, except for Velvet being missing some of the time.

I can't get over how cute those three girls are. Each so different but each so beautiful. It reminds me of that book we had when we were little about Snow White and Rose Red.
